Prospective majors are encouraged to work closely with the area department advisor not only to ensure completion of the program requirements, but also to provide support in planning for future opportunities. Students interested in the minor in Modern Middle Eastern and North African Studies should develop a specific plan for its completion in consultation with the academic advisor. Undergraduate FLAS and Summer FLAS

A Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowship provides tuition support and a stipend to students studying designated foreign languages in combination with area studies or international aspects of professional studies.
