Commencement

The University's Development Office sponsors the graduation ceremony. They produce and mail a printed bulletin of information to the local and permanent addresses of current seniors. This booklet also is on the web, approximately November 1 for a December graduation ceremony and March 1 for the spring ceremony in late April/early May. Their web address is http://www.umich.edu/~gradinfo/

Remember that you have to apply for graduation in order to be placed onto a tentative degree list by the LSA Academic Auditors.

There are three graduation dates every year, in May, August, and December, but only two commencement ceremonies (May and December). August graduates are automatically eligible to participate in either the May or the December ceremonies. A Commencement Book is distributed at each ceremony, listing the names of all degree recipients. Further information about tickets, required attire, etc. is available at the University Development Commencement Information website.
