Responsibilities:  Koç University has been organizing English Summer/ Winter Camps for the last 3 years. For this summer, they are looking for mentors and teachers with interest and experience in: Arts & crafts, Digital media, Film-making, Music, Photography, Stage performance, Drama, Sociology, Psychology, Orff.

Five instructor positions are available for this program.

This rewarding and enjoyable boarding summer camp program aims to improve the English skills of students aged between 9 - 14 providing communicative, student centered English for students seeking to study with the native speaking tutors.  The aim of our program is to develop the students' ability to think, read, write, listen, and communicate effectively in English.

Applying TEACHERS- ENGLISH MAJOR STUDENTS – TEFL teachers will be asked to attend/ plan and conduct the lessons and spend the day with the children.

This rewarding and enjoyable boarding summer camp program aims to improve the English skills of students aged between 9 - 14 providing communicative, student centered English for students seeking to study with the native speaking tutors.  The aim of our program is to develop the students' ability to think, read, write, listen, and communicate effectively in English.   Participating mentors will be expected to assist students at all times and teach conversational skills for 1 hour every weekday.  During the day each mentor will assist  3 children in classes of 15 students from the same age group for language practice.

Izmir School of Econ, Turkey

Housing: Housing is provided in the university dormitory in Izmir and at a hotel in Cesme (nearby resort town). Meals are also provided.

Pay: This position is unpaid.

Responsibilities: Izmir School of Econ (IEU) was created in 2001 and fosters to individuals interested in entrepreneurship, offering 17 different associate degree programs, 36 undergraduate programs, 31 graduate programs, and 6 PhD programs.

The candidates for the ELT instructors internship should be currently studying in a related discipline, such as English, Education, Linguistics etc. and ideally have some experience in mentoring, tutoring or coaching. For the Team Leader positions the interns should have good communication skills, be creative, be willing and enthusiastic and be able to lead group activities. Experience in some form of sports coaching, club activities or youth projects would also be very advantageous.

ELT Instructors:

Teaching English to young adult learners of different abilities, with the overall aim of improving the students' level of spoken and written English as well as exposing them to cultural and social diversity.

Team leaders:

Organizing and leading social activities, specifically designed to encourage the students to practice their communication skills in English.

Responsibilities:  Each summer, Ozyegin University is the host to 3 University of Michigan students. However, students are not on the campus, they work at companies owned by this private university. Good business knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities:  Considered to be one of the most popular placements over the past two years, University of Michigan students work as English teaching assistants in this private university. 

A fairly large group of UM students are invited to work there at the same time. Summer 2012 saw eight UM students there.

Pay: $300/month

Responsibilities: Work with this start-up company by undertaking the research, development, and marketing of a wide range of high end, ethical, and fair trade products.

  • Pre-departure, interns should create a full photographic survey of marketing and outlets (retail shops, cafes and independent restaurants) in at least one town or city
  • Research and consider the most low-cost, effective marketing strategies used in the U.S. to raise awareness about Fair Trade on and off college campuses
  • Collect materials, posters, promotions, and ideas for the development of a campaign in Turkey to discuss with Turkish students and activists.
  • This internship is preferable for students with an interest in: languages and intercultural communications, marketing and promotions, business distribution systems, social marketing and word of mouth campaigning, PT and advertising
  • Interns should be willing to learn some Turkish
