Thematically Based Options

The BGS and ICP are thematically based options. They allow a student to orchestrate an undergraduate program which is based on an underlying theme, as compared to an established concentration which is methodologically based.

The BGS/ICP advisor assists the student in the articulation of the theme and the determination of appropriate coursework to realize that theme. By definition, the theme of such a program is/must be interdisciplinary.

Joint Degree Programs

A student may be interested in a joint degree program with another school or college, even if the College has not officially established a joint degree program with the other unit. Such joint degree programs are planned through the Academic Standards Board. At least 150 credits are required for an individualized joint degree, including at least 100 credits of LSA courses.
