Fall 2008 Message about late drop/add

THE LAST DAY for LSA students to process a late drop or add of courses for the current term is FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2008.

Take the time now to double-check your current term elections on Wolverine Access (http://wolverineaccess.umich.edu/) to make sure that your schedule is accurately recorded.

If you are considering dropping a class, now is the time to meet with your instructor and academic advisor to discuss the pros and cons of staying in the class.  You can also refer to a list of frequently asked questions on-line at http://www.lsa.umich.edu/umich/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=e21069f7e6a4a110VgnVCM100000a3b1d38dRCRD&vgnextchannel=00da928e13179110VgnVCM10000096b1d38dRCRD&vgnextfmt=default

Honors and Residential College students should contact their respective advising offices for late drop or add forms and instructions. All other LSA students should use the information below.

Late drop or add request forms are available in the LSA Advising Center, 1255 Angell Hall. They can also be downloaded from the LSA Student Advising website:

http://www.lsa.umich.edu/umich/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=f128e2325087a110VgnVCM100000a3b1d38dRCRD

Completed late drop/add request forms must be turned in to the LSA Academic Advising Center, 1255 Angell Hall, NO LATER THAN 4:00 P.M. on FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2008.  Late drop forms must include an instructor’s signature. (Signature can be from any one of these:  faculty, lecturer, or GSI.)  You must have an override (“electronic permission”) from the department before an add can be processed.

All changes MUST be made by the deadline. Exceptions to this late drop/add policy are made only when there are documented extreme and unanticipated circumstances that are non-academic in nature and that occur after the NOVEMBER 7TH deadline.

The last day to change a class from pass/fail to graded or graded to pass/fail was SEPTEMBER 22.  You cannot change your pass/fail status at this point.

Please contact your academic advisor if you have questions or concerns.  Wishing you success in the remainder of the term,
