International Travel Information and Registry *
Faculty, staff, and students traveling outside the United States on University-related activities should consult the U-M Overseas Travel Guidelines and use the UM International Travel Registration Web Site. The Travel Registry helps facilitate communications in the event of emergency situations that may arise for those traveling outside the United States for activities related to the University, such as study, research, participation in sponsored projects or programs, or other business.
University of Michigan International Safety & Security Travel Policy *
This policy applies to all University faculty, staff and students traveling abroad. Individual schools and colleges, or other non-academic units, may have additional requirements and policies regarding international travel safety and security.
Travel Abroad Health Insurance *
University of Michigan makes this insurance plan available (and requires certain individuals to purchase it) in order to reduce the impact of health problems on study, work, volunteer and travel abroad. This plan is administered by HTH Worldwide, a leader in international travel health insurance. At UM-Ann Arbor and UM-Dearborn, undergraduates participating in UM Education Abroad (study/work/volunteer) programs that are organized by UM departments/units or for which in-residence UM credit is granted are required to buy the plan.
