The Sweetland Writing Center offers a variety of writing courses and support for graduate students.

Among our services and courses, Sweetland Writing Workshop faculty offer skillful, supportive advice to graduate students as they draft their course papers, projects, and theses. We act as an interested outside audience, direct students to resources, and give specific suggestions about organization, disciplinary modes, evidence, clarity, grammar, and style.

SWC 630: Advanced Graduate Writing and Sweetland's Dissertation Writing Institute are especially designed to help graduate students with their graduate-level writing across the disciplines

Sweetland faculty also help Graduate Student Instructors across LSA as they learn to create writing assignments, assess student writing, and work with their students to improve their writing and thinking skills. Graduate Student Instructors teaching courses that undergraduates elect to fulfill their Upper-Level Writing Requirement are required to enroll in SWC 993: GSI Training, which provides GSIs with the skills and knowledge to work with their undergraduates on their writing.
