Assessment of Tutoring Best Practices
In the Fall of 2007, with a grant from the Gilbert Whitaker Fund for the Improvement of Teaching, a group of faculty undertook a study of Sweetland’s Writing Workshop. Our research was prompted by this question, raised by one of our colleagues at a Sweetland faculty meeting: “What am I supposed to do with my writing workshop evaluations? How can I use these numbers to improve my teaching?” Read more.
In Winter 2010, Sweetland received a Level II Grant from LSA Instructional Support Services to fund our synchronous Online Writing Lab (syncOWL) and a study of best practices for synchronous online tutoring. Read more.
