How to Satisfy the Upper-Level Writing Requirement

Before enrolling in an Upper-Level Writing Requirement course, students must first complete the First-Year Writing Requirement with a C- or better. A C- or better is also necessary in a designated ULWR course to fulfill the requirement. A course approved to meet the requirement during one semester is not necessarily approved to meet the requirement in subsequent semesters. Transfer credit is not accepted, as the ULWR course must be taken at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
