Giving to UMBS

Hard science matters. So does the planet. So does our future.

From its modest beginning in 1909, the Biological Station is today at the forefront of research and education on climate change, biodiversity, and environmental science.

Students and researchers who make their way through our Douglas Lake campus leave forever changed. They see and understand biology, ecology, and natural science with unparalleled breadth, depth, and clarity. And they take their acquired scientific knowledge, research skills, and understanding with them all over the globe.

Maybe you have first-hand experience with UMBS. Or perhaps you just recently learned about the exceptional courses, world-class research and training programs, and diverse outreach activities happening here. Either way, you can help ensure that the Biological Station carries on as a leader in integrated field research and education.

The Biological Station has mapped out three core areas of transformation for its next 100 years.  In addition we have more than a dozen existing funds that support students and research.

There are three easy ways to make a donation to the Biological Station:

  • write a CHECK, payable to UMBS, and mail it to us at our Ann Arbor address.

  • call the UMBS office (734-763-4461) with your CREDIT CARD number.

  • use the University's secure, on-line giving web page (you will need to specify "U-M Biological Station" as the "Other" giving category to which you are donating).

If you wish to learn about Planned Giving opportunities, then you may contact U-M Central Development directly. Be sure to specify that you wish to contribute to UMBS.

We greatly appreciate your support.
