Research Interests: Host-parasite relationships, behavior and ecology of digenestic trematodes, particularly avian schistosomes that cause swimmer's itch.

Dr. Blankespoor received his Ph.D at Iowa State University. He is currently a professor of biology at Hope College in Holland, Michigan.

Dr. Blankespoor teaches BIO 431, Biology of Animal Parasites, at UMBS.
