  Research Interests: Systematics, zoogeography, cytogenetics, and molecular genetics of invertebrate animals, particularly snails, clams, and spiders, and the role of mollusks in mediating human trematode and nematode parasitic diseases.
Dr. Burch received his Ph.D at the University of Michigan. He is currently a Professor and Curator of Mollusks in the Museum of Zoology at the University of Michigan
