Research Interests: Algal taxonomy and ecology, Wetland Ecology, currently investigating wild rice in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Dr. Pillsbury received his Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University. He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, Dept. of Biology/Microbiology, and teaches Ecology at UMBS.
