John A. Witter, Ph.D., Professor of Forestry, School of Natural Resources & Environment, University of Michigan

Research Interests: Effects of regional air pollution on forest productivity, effects of multiple envionmental stresses on forests, integrated pest management and educational programs for the gypsy moth, impact of insects and diseases in oak stands, spruce-fir decline, impact of spruce budworm on spruce-fir stands, growth and survival of red pine seedlings in Michigan, and agricultural/ forest pest management with emphasis on cultural and biological control techniques.

Dr. Witter received his Ph.D at the University of Minnesota. . He teaches "NR 330/507, Habitats and Organisms: Science of Interactions" during the UMBS summer session. He is currently Professor of Forestry at the School of Natural Resources and Environment at the University of Michigan.
