Division of Testing and Certification Mission Statement

The mission of the Testing and Certification Division of the English Language Institute at the University of Michigan is to develop and administer English as a second/foreign language assessments in accord with the highest professional standards, to conduct research supporting those assessments, to serve as a professional resource on matters related to ELS/EFL assessment, and to promote the ethical use of tests.
