Dennis Hegyi

Professor Emeritus

Office: 1480 Randall
Email: dhegyi@umich.edu
Phone: 764-3457

Education: Princeton.

Research Field: Astrophysics Experiment

Research Focus: cosmology, cosmic blackbody radiation, helium abundance in the universe

Professor Hegyi's recent research has been in the field of cosmology and relativistic astrophysics. Relating to the origin of the Universe, he has been working to measure the spectrum of the cosmic background radiation to high precision to verify that it is a black-body. Also relating to the early Universe, he has been working to measure the primordial helium abundance, the amount of helium produced in the big bang.
