Res-Hall⁄Offsite Advising

In conjunction with University Housing, the Newnan LSA Academic Advising Center maintains an extensive program of peer advising services in the residence halls. The program features an Academic Peer Advisor (APA) who lives in the residence hall. The APA is an experienced undergraduate or graduate student who has been trained to provide information on College policies, procedures, and issues of course planning and academic difficulties. They hold regular office hours as well as being on-site for consultations throughout the community.

The APAs and Coordinator of the program work together to provide a number of programs and workshops throughout the academic year. Typical subjects include sessions on academic planning, study skills, test taking, strategies for selecting courses, reviews of basic degree requirements, etc.
