Morley Scholar Application Information

  • Applications are invited for the 2010 calendar year.
  • Applications must be received by December 4, 2009 and decisions will be made by December 18, 2009.

Applications should consist of the Morley Scholarship electronic application form, a one- to two-page application letter, and a resume. The applications letter should describe the proposed research by including a statement of the major goals or hypotheses under test, a brief review of the relevant recent literature, a description of methods and their rationale, and a summary of any pilot work or progress to date. Applications usually stand a better chance of success if the applicant proposes using the time in Ann Arbor to advance a manageable project significantly towards or to a conclusion. General exploratory schemes of work are usually not funded. Applicants also need to be in a position to work largely on their own..
