About Johanna
Eriksson
Johanna Eriksson has been the director of the Scandinavian Program since 1999. She is responsible for the Minor in Scandinavian studies, which includes three years of Swedish language studies as well as area courses in English. Johanna is arranging the annual Signe Karlström Event, featuring a broad range of concerts, staged readings, exhibits and public talks. Johanna encourages her students to participate in the university's study abroad programs to Uppsala University and Stockholm University in Sweden and to Turku University in Finland. The program helps arrange and sponsor eight week summer internships in Scandinavia, where the students can gain university credit. Over Spring Break, Johanna arranges a week long Study trip to Sweden, where the students stay in Swedish host families. Her classes collaborate with Campeon Frigymnasium in Helsingborg, Sweden. Johanna is interested in film and literature, music, language pedagogy and language acquisition.
