Yukio Tomozawa

Professor Emeritus

Office: 1484C Randall
Email: tomozawa@umich.edu
Phone: 764-9469

Education: Tokyo.

Research Field: Elementary Particle Experiment and Theory

Research Focus: The solar neutrino problem and an exploration for a new type of neutrino detector.

Professor Tomozawa's studies include theoretical and experimental work on the solar neutrino problem (the depletion of solar neutrino flux). His work on the enhancement of neutrino cross-sections by magnetoplasma properties attempts to explain observed anticorrelation of the solar neutrino flux and solar activity in recent experiments. Professor Tomozawa is also exploring the possibility of an efficient neutrino detector and a control of radioactivity.
