Spotlight on "Student Success 2003" - February 2003

The Minority International Research T raining Awards were presented on January 27, 2003 in the Commons of the Center for Human Growth and Development. The following CSP students were among the Summer 2003 M.I.R.T. Award recipients.

The Minority International Research Training (MIRT) Grant was recently renewed for an additional four years. This program is funded by the National Institutes of Health and is administered by the Fogarty Institute. The MIRT program is a combined program with UCSD and the University of Minnesota and supports 10 undergraduates and 1 graduate student to conduct up to three months of research at various international laboratories. International relationships have been established with research institutes and universities in Chile, China, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Finland, South Africa, and Canada.
