Fundamentals in Teaching English as a Second Language Internationally

This course introduces the essentials of classroom methodology and practice for students who intend to go abroad and teach English as a Second/Foreign Language. Classroom discussion will include a focus on language learning and teaching issues in a non-English context. Activities will include establishing principles of classroom management, and determining appropriate materials and resources for the communicative classroom. Course work includes reading assignments, discussion, workshop activities, mini-presentations of lessons, and a final observed lesson and project.
