Dobson
Barbara has been working in the Testing Division since 1991 and is currently a research associate and Associate Director for Testing. After receiving her BA and MA degrees from the University of Michigan, she worked in ELI-Testing throughout the 1970s. During the 1980s she taught NS and NNS writing courses at Oakland University, where she developed a special interest in teaching and testing writing at the university level. Currently, she is involved in developing several language tests, administering large-scale testing programs, and conducting research related to language testing. Her particular interests are the teaching and testing of reading and writing at the university level. She is co-author of the ESL reading textbooks Reader's Choice (4th ed., 2002) and Choice Readings, of several articles and presentations related to teaching and testing writing at the undergraduate level, and she has made presentations related to language testing at numerous professional conferences.
