Banerjee
Jayanti Banerjee is a language assessment specialist in the Testing and Certification Division of the English Language Institute at the University of Michigan. She is involved in designing and conducting research projects related to the ELI testing programs and in overseeing and managing all stages of test development projects. Prior to coming to the UM, she worked at Lancaster University where she coordinated their Hong Kong MA TESOL master's degree, taught on various master's degree and PhD courses, and supervised master's degree and PhD projects. Her most recent research activities have included a validation study of the ELPAC test, a test of Aviation English designed by EUROCONTROL, as well as a project documenting linguistic markers of the different levels of foreign language proficiency. She has published in the areas of language testing and English for academic purposes and presented papers at a number of international conferences.
