Visiting Scholars Scholarship Requests

The ELI offers modest financial awards annually to a few individuals who are investigating second language learning and teaching or language testing. Please follow the links below for more information on Morley Scholarships and Spaan Fellowships: Morley Scholarships Morley Scholarships provide ELI Financial support to those wishing to make use of ELI resources to carry out a research project in second language theory and pedagogy. Spaan Fellowships Spaan Fellowships provide ELI financial support to those wishing to carry out research projects related to second or foreign language assessment and evaluation. The ELI also hosts a few language teaching professionals from outside the U.S. who have their own funding as Visiting Scholars. Individuals should contact the faculty or staff member they are interested in working with and also complete the ELI Visiting Scholar Request Form. ELI Visiting Scholar Request Form A form for language teaching professionals from abroad who desire to spend a period of time at the ELI while they carry out their research. Such language teaching professionals have funding from their home country (organizational or personal). This form is not for UM visitors who want to take ELI English courses, Morley Scholarship applicants, or Spaan Fellowship applicants.
