Spotlight on "Student Success 2001" - April 2001
Alanna Jackson, A member of W.I.S.E.
Alanna is interested in Anthropology-Zoology or BioPsychology. Alanna will be in China this summer with the Minority International Research Training Program (M.I.R.T.-see next column). She will be researching Disparities in Child Health and Development. She is in the process of learning Chinese.
Princess L. Jones, B.A. in English & Spanish,
May 2000 graduate. Princess will be attending the University of Michigan, School of Social Work in Fall 2001. She studied abroad for a year in Seville, Spain and reminds students to take advantage of the U of M, Study Abroad Programs.
Chris Mack, B.A. Psychology, 1996. He went on to earn his MSW in 1998, also from the University of Michigan. Chris worked with CSP as a Graduate Advisor and an Orientation Advisor. He has accepted a fellowship to the University of Florida to begin a Ph.D. in Psychology in Fall 2001.
Rebeca Mendoza, B.A. in Psychology and Women’s Studies. She plans to graduate with the Class of May 2002. Rebeca will spend the summer in Santiago, Chile, with the Minority International Research Traning Program (M.I.R.T.). She will be interviewing young mothers for various research projects.
Steven Reyes, A member of Lloyd Hall Scholars. Steven is considering a career in medicine. He was in the Minority Medical Education Summer-2000 Internship Program (MMEP), at Case Western Reserve University. This summer he will be in South Africa with M.I.R.T. He served in LS&A Student Government in 1999-2000.
