Professor Ross researches the efficiency with which a society uses energy, and the associated emissions and costs. This involves perspectives of physics, economics, and behavior and policy sciences. His focus has been manufacturing and, more recently, automobiles. His group is using simulations of engines, vehicles and driving to explore the potential for fuel economy improvement and reduced pollution through new technology.
