Plough
India Plough (Ph.D. Michigan State University, 1994) is a research associate in the Testing and Certification Division of the English Language Institute at the University of Michigan. She is the program manager for the Graduate Student Instructor Oral English Test; she is also involved in test development and leads validation research. Prior to coming to the UM, she taught ESL in university, community college, and community education environments and EFL in Japan. She has also taught courses in Ojibwe, applied linguistics, and teacher education. She served as the associate director of a U.S. Department of Education Language Resource Center and as the State of Michigan's service-learning research and policy program officer, overseeing a W. K. Kellogg Foundation grant initiative to advance service-learning in K-16 schools in Michigan.
