REU

Chemistry REU *
This program is conducted in concert with the NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program and is supported by funds from the National Science Foundation. The UM REU Program especially welcomes applications from women and students from other populations underrepresented in the sciences. REU Projects are available in all subject areas.
Math REU *
This program is designed to provide outstanding undergraduates with the opportunity to pursue research under the tutelage of experienced faculty members. Typically students work with a faculty member on a project of mutual interest for 6-8 weeks during the summer (May - June). The projects range anywhere from math modeling in the sciences and engineering, running computer simulations or computer experiments to solving abstract and conceptual problems, depending on the background and the interests of student and faculty member.
Physics REU *
The University of Michigan Physics Department Summer Research for Undergraduates Program (REU) in physics provides selected undergraduate students from around the United States an opportunity to conduct ten weeks of summer research with some of the country's leading physicists in a range of experimental physics fields. The program is conducted in concert with the NSF Research Experiences for Undergraduates Program and is supported by funds from the National Science Foundation. REU students have the opportunity to participate in laser and radiation safety training classes and also a specially designed instrumentation shop class that provides training in the use of shop tools.
Summer Undergraduate Research Experience at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland *
Students selected for the program will spend from the first week of June to the first week of August working with active research groups at CERN, one of the world's premier international laboratories.
University of Michigan/Peking University (UM PKU) Summer Undergraduate Exchange Program REU *
The University of Michigan/Peking University Summer Undergraduate Exchange Program REU. International NSF-REU Site for Chemistry in China
REU at the Unviersity of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS)
The REU Program at the Unviersity of Michigan Biological Station (UMBS) is a truly interdisciplinary experience in scientific research in "biosphere-atmosphere studies in the changing global environment."
REU at the University of Michigan Space Physics Research Laboratory *
The Space Physics Research Laboratory within the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Space Sciences at the University of Michigan has a limited number of research assistant positions openings for undergraduate students enrolled in programs at accredited schools. This program is partially funded by the Department of Defense ASSURE program, in cooperation with the National Science Foundation REU program and the GEO/ATM Aeronomy section.
National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIM) REU *
National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN) conducts one of the largest and most successful Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) programs in nanotechnology.
Incentive-Centered Design for Cyberinfrastructure REU in the School of Information *
The School of Information REU program will provide a diverse group of promising students with a short-term research experience to foster their intellectual growth as scientists, and to provide an important building block for a rewarding long-term career in the fields of social sciences and information technology unified by the incentive-centered design approach.
