When are evaluation results available?

GSI Oral English Test Reports are sent to departments within 1 to 2 days after the GSI-OET is conducted. A copy of the test report is distributed to the graduate student if the student has been approved for instructional duties and there are no English course requirements. Students not approved for instructional duties and/or for whom there are English course requirements are notified by their department to make an appointment with the ELI GSI training coordinator Brenda Imber to obtain a copy of their test report, to review the results of their test, and receive guidance in enrolling for ELI courses and advice on a program to improve their English language skills.

Students who receive their reports directly from their department because they are approved for teaching and have no requirements listed on their GSI-OET report are also welcome to make an appointment with the ELI GSI training coordinator to discuss their results.  All students are welcome to enroll in ELI courses and/or attend the ELI Speaking Clinic.

Additional consultation about tests results is available from India Plough, indiac@umich.edu, or Sarah Briggs, slbriggs@umich.edu. Additional consultation about courses is also available from Carolyn Madden, cagm@umich.edu, the associate director for curriculum at the ELI.
