Spotlight on "Student Success 2001" - February 2001

 

Tyrone Johnson--
1998 CSP Graduate,
BRIDGE class of 1994
Tyrone has been selected as a recipient of the 2000 All*Americorps Award for--Stregthening Communities. In one of Denver's poorest neighborhoods, Tyrone tapped community resources to solve problems. He repaired computers, distributed them to students, and initiated a Spanish version of an "Introduction to Windows" class. He helped to coordinate a violence prevention class for children. He is now working as a Family Advocate at Catholic Charities in Denver and plans to use his education award for a Master's degree in Education.

William A. Johnson -- May 2001
William, our pre-med peer advisor is Medical School bound. Will was offered several interviews and has already been accepted to the University of Connecticut, Medical School. CSP staff and students will miss him around the CSP office. You go Will!

Tonya B. Clark -- May 2001
Tonya, our pre-med peer advisor is headed for Medical School. She has been offered several interviews and has been accepted to Wayne State University in Detroit. She is keeping all of her options open at this point, so we will keep you posted. CSP staff and students will miss her-thanks for your help this past year!

 


Nonye Ukawuba --May 2001 BBA
Nonye, our BBA advisor, has accepted an offer from PricewaterhouseCoopers in Chicago. She will be representing clients in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Forty to sixty percent of her job will require traveling, which she is excited about. CSP staff and students will miss her assistance.
