Grandma Has A Video Camera (2007, 58 min); MICHIGAN PREMIERE - A collaboration between director Cypriano and her grandmother, who, for over 20 years, used a home video camera to record first-hand how a family of Brazilian immigrants in the United States used their home video camera to record first-hand how they saw their new world and struggled to establish themselves.

Teddy Cruz is principal architect in the design firm, Estudio Teddy Cruz in San Diego, CA. Learning from emerging immigrant neighborhoods across the country, Cruz looks for neighborhood models where informality and resourcefulness lead to sustainable, affordable communities. Cruz argues that these models can strengthen all American neighborhoods. This lecture is part of a series in 2007-8 that aims to encourage greater discussion and awareness of diversity issues in the Taubman College.
