Spotlight on "Student Success 2003" - April 2003
Natasha Weatherspoon, CSP sophomore,
Natasha will be participating in the Minority Medical Education Program (MMEP) at Duke University. This is a summer academic enrichment program for pre-med students. FYI: The MMEP is in its fifteenth year. 63% of students in this program who have applied to medical school have been accepted. Participants receive full tuition, housing, and meals. Leonard E. Burnett, Jr., CSP Alum
Mr. Burnett is the Associate Group Publisher for Vanguarde Media, Inc. CSP sponsored his visit and talk on Martin Luther King Day. He has been credited for his work with VIBE Magazine, Blaze Magazine, and co-founding Urban Profile magazine. Romanda Kindle, CSP Alum
Romanda graduated with a degree in Psychology in May 1999. This fall, she will be attending Kent State University, School of Exercise and Leisure Sports. She will pursue a Masters of Arts in Sport and Recreation Management. Romanda is a diehard sports fanatic. Go Ro! The American Culture Department will miss you very much as well as your friends in CSP.
Lina I Saad, CSP Alum
Lina has been attending graduate school at Wayne State and will obtain her PharmD degree in May 2003. She published an article in the Journal of American College of Cardiology. She also served as an extern at Pfizer Pharmaceutical Co. during her Pharm D rotations. She is currently employed by CVS as a Pharmacist in training.
Angela Scott, CSP Alum
Ms. Scott graduated from the University of Michigan in 1985. She recently took a position as a Psychiatric Social Worker in the St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Emergency Department, located in Ypsilanti, Michigan. During her time as a student, Gus Pappas was her CSP advisor.
