Fields of Study
Archaeological geology, geochronology of prehistoric sites, sedimentology,
Quaternary geology. Professor Farrand's principal interest is in the geological study of
archeological sites, especially sediment and stratigraphic analysis, geochronology,
and the reconstruction of the geological setting of prehistoric sites, primarily in the
Mediterranean area.
