Visiting UMMA

The Museum of Anthropology is a research, teaching, and curation unit of the College of Literature, Science and Arts for anthropological and archaeological collections from around the world. The Museum is not open to the general public on a daily basis and does not have its own exhibits available for viewing materials. However, through collaboration with the University of Michigan's Exhibit Museum of Natural History , the Museum of Anthropology has helped design a variety of exhibits that include selected pieces from our collections. Please click on the link above for information about the Exhibit Museum.

Researchers interested in using the Museum's collections should read the "Access to Collections Policy" and fill out the "Access to Collections" form found under the Researcher Resources section.

For groups interested in contacting the Museum under the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act, information can be found under the NAGPRA section.

Where we are located:

The Museum of Anthropology is located on the central campus of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
