Ethnology and Material Culture Collections

With more than 13,600 items, the Ethnology division curates cultural objects from around the world, including Native American basketry and pottery, and masks, textiles, weapons, personal adornment and traditional implements from the Americas, Africa, Asia, and the Pacific.

Asian Ethnology Collections

The Asian ethnographic collections document the University’s strong ties to the region from the mid-19th century until today. Included are a broad range of objects and associated documentation from the Philippines, Sumatra, Bali, Borneo, South Asia, and China.
