Welcome to UMMA Publications

Now the imprint of the Museum of Anthropological Archaeology (UMMAA), the University of Michigan Museum of Anthropology (UMMA) has been publishing scholarly monographs—featuring excellent scholarship, meticulous research, and leading-edge, vibrant interpretation—since 1932. Today, we continue this tradition, complementing our research foci by publishing data-rich archaeological and ethnographic monographs in North American, Latin American, Near Eastern, European, African, and Asian archaeology and ethnology. Our comprehensive books include numerous tables, charts, drawings, and photographs—priceless records of archaeological data that are relevant to both current and future research.
