Measuring and Photographing Varanus Skulls

Derek Larson

Derek is looking at the relationship between tooth morphology and diet in reptiles for his PhD. Using modern monitor lizards (Varanus) for comparison, analogous diets in the fossil record can be hypothesized based on tooth morphology, in particular, non-avian meat-eating dinosaurs and their avian relatives.
