Frontiers Master's Student Defends Thesis
Frontiers Master's Student, Marcella Baiz, defended her Master's thesis on June 24th. The title of her thesis was, "Intragroup genetic relatedness in two howler monkey species (Alouatta pigra and A. palliata): implications for understanding social systems and dispersal". Marcella is pictured to the left collecting blood samples from an anesthetized mantled howler (A. palliata) for her genetic analyses. The monkey was released back into the wild. Marcella is continuing her graduate studies at Michigan and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree. She will be co-advised by Drs. Priscilla Tucker and Liliana Cortés Ortiz.
