Giving Opportunities
UROP creates valuable and memorable research experiences for undergraduate students. Each year the demand for student research placements increases. UROP is always seeking additional resources to provide as many students as possible with the opportunity to be a part of our exciting research community.
There are several ways UROP Alumni and friends can support UROP in this effort:
Mentor Students!
The value of mentorship is incomparable. Mentors greatly enhance the undergraduate experience. By mentoring students who are conducting research in your field of work, you would be able to provide UROP students with a career role model. There are many ways to become an active mentor:
--Volunteer to speak to current students at a research seminar
--Host a field trip to your workplace and/or share your career interests
--Become a UROP Alumni Sponsor!
Contribute to UROP!
Your financial contribution will help UROP to meet the increase in student demand for additional research opportunities in the following ways:
*$3,500 will support one student for a summer research fellowship.
*$1,000 will send a student to a national or international research conference.
*$100 will help establish an endowment to support the UROP summer fellowship programs.
*$25-$50 will help fund specialized workshop training programs.
