UROP emphasizes the importance of research in both the academic and professional worlds. Many alumni of the program continue their research at the graduate and professional levels while maintaining relationships made during their undergraduate experience. Not only does UROP offer students avenues into graduate and professional schools, but the program also helps students gain confidence in their future endeavors and become leaders to their peers.
Where Are They Now?
UROP now has over 7,000 alumni who apply their UROP experiences in many creative ways.
Received her M.A. degree in Museum Studiesfrom George Washington University, May 2008. Recently employed by Gallagher & Associates, a multi-disciplinary design firm located in Bethesda, MD.
Mariam Kermati is participating in Teach for America in Houston, Texas.
Angela Locks defended her Ph.D dissertation in August 2008 at the University of Michigan and is now an Assistant Professor at California State University, Long Beach.

Ramona Godbole is attending the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Angela Kuznia has started medical school at Michigan State University, Fall 2008.
Loc Thang has started an MD/Ph.D program at Michigan State University, Fall 2008 and reports his UROP Peer Advisor experience has proven to be applicable to interviewing patients.
