UROP continues to be dedicated to creating valuable and memorable research experiences for undergraduate students. As student demand for research experiences continue to grow annually, we are always seeking additional resources to provide as many students as possible with the opportunity to be a part of our exciting research community.
If you would like to contribute to UROP, consider the following giving opportunities:
UROP Leadership Committee
The UROP Leadership Committee is composed of University of Michigan alumni interested in supporting UROP to work strategically to raise funds for student travel to conferences, summer fellowships, faculty mentor awards, and small research grants for student initiated projects. The members come to campus from all over the country and are leaders in business, communications (radio and television), the pharmaceutical industry, and law. They also will work with UROP to create internships, provide mentorship, and link our program to other alumni around the country.
Be a Mentor
The value of mentorship is incomparable. By mentoring students who are conducting research in your field of work, you would be able to provide UROP students with a career role model. Volunteer to speak about your educational and career experiences at one of our bi-weekly research seminars. Host a field trip to your work site.
Be a UROP Alumni Sponsor
Your financial contribution will help UROP in the following ways:
- $4,000 will support one student for a summer research fellowship.
- $1,000 will send a student to a national or international research conference.
- $100 will help to establish an endowment to support the UROP summer fellowship programs.
- $25-50 will help fund specialized workshop training programs.
