Funding for students is varied and is limited to the programs that UROP offers throughout the year. During the Fall-Winter Terms, UROP is only able to offer monetary funding to students who do research through one of our Fall-Winter programs AND have Work-Study as part of their financial aid packages. Students who do not have Work-Study but can still show financial need, can apply for a UROP Student Research Grant, however funding is limited.
Funding for the Summer is also limited to our Summer Fellowships, which are both highly competitive and student driven (i.e. students are the ones required to write the research proposal and to apply). For more information on any of our programs, please visit the Student section of our website.
Travel Grants for Undergraduate Students
UROP has funds to support student travel to national and international professional meetings to present their research. Students can pick up Travel Grant Applications from the UROP office. In addition to this form, students must provide:
- a copy of their abstract
- official confirmation from the conference
- a letter of support from you
UROP awards grants of up to $1000 per student and awards on average 25-30 travel grants each year. Applications must be received prior to travel. Processing of the grant applications takes from 7-10 days. Students will be notified by e-mail if the travel grant has been approved and for what amount.
