Summer Biomedical and Life Sciences Fellowship Program
Funded by: Grants and gifts from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Towsley Foundation, Amgen Foundation, Pfizer Foundation, and individual donors Marc and Lori Robinson Fund, Tori and Terry Rosen Fund, and the Robert and Janet Neary Fund.
Undergraduate students engage in biomedical research. Summer Biomedical Fellowship Program Fellows receive funding to participate in full-time (minimum 40 hours/week) research, learn more about biomedicine and explore career options in the biomedical sciences.
University of Michigan Students

UM-Ann Arbor students interested in the biomedical and life sciences.

Students who have not had a full-time research experience are given priority

Research must be in biomedical and life sciences or community based health research in other disciplines.
Requirements

Participate in research for 12 consecutive weeks

Participate in program seminars, workshops, and special events
Stipend
-
Up to $3500 for full-time research of 12 weeks.

Applicants must commit to the full 12 weeks. Full-time; a minimum of 40 hours per week. Individual work schedules vary, i.e. fellows may start work early or late during the day, may work evenings and weekends, etc. The faculty member and the nature of the research endeavor determine schedules.

Application Checklist
Non University of Michigan Students
The University of Michigan has funds from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute to support 3-5 students annually who attend school at Xavier University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Baltimore County. Students will be required to conduct 10-12 weeks of research in the biomedical and life sciences and attend biweekly seminars. Students must be interested in pursuing graduate work in the biomedical and life sciences and complete the following application materials. Students will receive a $3500 stipend, room and board, and transportation to and from Ann Arbor.
