    As a part of the University's theme semester on understanding race, the Building Islam in Detroit project is presenting the exhibition, Building Islam in Detroit: Foundations/Forms/Futures, at the Hatcher Library Gallery until April 4.     Islam and the Challenge of Black Muslim Globalities in the 21st Century 
    Zain Abdullah, Department of Religion, Temple University

    "They are Orientals and They Love the East": Conflating Race, Nation, and Religion in Interwar Detroit 
    Sally Howell, Department of Social Sciences, University of Michigan-Dearborn

    All are welcome to attend. The exhibit and workshop are sponsored by the Center for Arab American Studies at the UM-Dearborn, the Building Islam in Detroit project, the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Studies, and the University of Michigan Library.
