Carol Karlsen is Professor of History and Women’s Studies. Dr. Karlsen has published two books: Devil in the Shape of a Woman and Journal of Ester Edwards Burr, (co-editor). She is the recipient of American Council of Learned Societies Award and fellowships from The Guggenheim Foundation. Her current research focuses on the representation of witches in the United States after the Salem-Witchcraft trials of 1692. She retired in 2011.
