Major Projects:
- Ethnomusicological Video Archive for Instruction and Analysis - co PI. This multimillion dollar project will digitize hundreds of hours of field research video and distribute that footage and accompanying metadata via the internet (current, Mellon).
- Extensive scholarly research focused on the musical and cultural systems of the Vai people in Liberia. Currently examining the influence of Islam on the continuity and change of music in funerary rituals among the Vai.
- Research on Islam and socio-musical change in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
- Documentary film work on music and dance performance in Liberia.
