    Multi-media artist damali ayo (lower case is intentional) has a fresh
    take on diversity like none you’ve ever seen.  Using art, photos,
    videos, humor, and unforgettable stories, ayo shows the solutions to
    one of our culture’s toughest topics and leaves her audiences
    energized and feeling empowered and hopeful.

    ayo’s program is one of the culminating events for the semester-long
    exploration of race coordinated by the College of Literature, Science
    and the Arts, the “Understanding Race Project.”

    ayo (http://damaliayo.com) has presented this and other programs at
    colleges, universities, and conferences across the country.  Her U-M
    presentation is sponsored by the Understanding Race Theme Semester, Center for the Education of Women (CEW) Frances and Sydney Lewis Visiting Leaders Fund, Division of Student Affairs, Global Scholars Program, University Housing, Martin Luther King, Jr.Cesar Chavez-Rosa Parks Visiting Professors Program, and the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs.
