    I will present progress towards multi-qubit quantum logic experiments using a 2D array of trapped neutral atoms with long range entangling gates based on Rydberg state mediated interactions. The use of dissipative instead of coherent dynamics is shown to be promising for generating very long range entanglement. We have trapped cold Cs atoms in a novel, phase insensitive array of overlapping Gaussian beams. Three dimensional trapping of Rydberg excited Cs atoms are demonstrating.
