To be eligible for D-SIP, students must be undergraduates enrolled at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Flint or Dearborn campuses.
Applications to the program are being accepted on a continual basis until 11:59 P.M. on Sunday, January 12, 2013. Selected candidates will be asked to complete two rounds of interviews. All applicants will be notified of final decisions in mid-March 2014.
Participants earn $10.50/hour for all time spent on assigned internships in U-M schools or units. Students are not paid for attending classes or lectures or completing coursework. D-SIP interns do not work on Memorial Day or Independence Day. Students may choose to enroll in D-SIP for credit or as a not-for-credit internship. However, participants will be expected to attend all class sessions and complete assignments regardless of credit status. The program runs Tuesday, May 13, 2014 through Friday, August 8, 2014. Interns cannot miss any part of the program.
